Powering central and western Kansas with industry-leading customer service is the mission of Midwest Energy, a customer-owned electric and natural gas cooperative, serving 93,000 customers in 40 counties in Kansas. Midwest Energy chose Kansas Truck to custom-build a crew service truck. The crew truck provides service at all times of day and night and in various weather conditions. Having tools, supplies, power and equipment at hand is paramount to a safe, successful and intelligent use of personnel and equipment.
Let’s take a walk around the truck to see what equipment Kansas Truck Equipment installed.
• GoLights were permanently installed on each side of the cab. The remote-controlled spotlight raises and lowers and swivels 360 degrees. In addition, five strobe lights were installed in the front and back for added security.
• The Reading Classic II aluminum service body shelving was upfitted with dividers for proper tool and nuts/bolts storage. In the front and rear cabinets, swivel and lock hooks were installed. Over-the-wheel cabinets have C-tech drawers. A three outlet 12V plug was installed in the front compartment.
• Able Equip ladder rack
• Reinforced back bumper with D-rings for towing and pulling lines
• Thermos holder
• Hot stick box extends the full length of the service body
• Additional horizontal toolbox on top of service body with custom multi-shovel rack
• Custom headache rack and reel rack that also doubles with the headache rack as a material hauling device
• Storage chest with padlock security installed in the truck bed
